Gauge Group

The Standard Model gauge group is

SU(3)C×SU(2)L×U(1)Y.SU(3)_C\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y.

It organizes the strong, weak, and electromagnetic interactions.

Matter Content

Matter fields are quarks and leptons. Quarks carry color charge and participate in the strong interaction. Leptons do not carry color charge.

Force Carriers

Gauge bosons mediate interactions: gluons for QCD, W±W^\pm and ZZ for the weak interaction, and the photon for electromagnetism.
